Arsene Wenger is not happy with the performances of his team in the ongoing season.
Arsenal has played 3 games in the top tier so far this summer and has managed to win just one.
Apart from that win, one was a shocking loss at the hands of West Ham United, while, in the third one, they could secure just one point versus Liverpool.
They have every right to be a little disappointed with the match officials though as far as that Liverpool game is concerned.
They were hard done by in that game with a goal that they scored.
That looked like a fair goal even to the naked eyes, let alone the television replays. But, for some reason, it was declared an offside by the referee in charge and that probably cost the Gunners a couple of points there.
Wenger, however, was in no mood to use that as an excuse for the below par show that his boys put on.
He termed the performance ‘mediocre’ as he sat down in the conference hall to have an interaction with the reporters.
In the words of Wenger, “The start that we have got off to, it’s nothing more than average and that I have to admit. There has been the lack of sharpness.”
“We could have been 1-0 today, but, there’s no point ruing that and there’s no point going to the referee and seek explanation either. Everyone saw what happened. From where I was, it was clear to me straightaway that it was legal.”
“Liverpool has been lucky enough to have it go their way for the second time in a row. So, they would not be complaining.”
Arsenal would play Newcastle United next at St. James Park’ this Saturday.
