Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been performing with Arsenal since August of 2011 but despite having joined the Premier League club over 5 years ago, he continues to struggle trying to become a regular starter for Arsene Wenger.
The English player does manage to get time on the pitch with the first team squad of Arsene Wenger but the majority of those appearances that he gets is from the sidelines as Oxlade-Chamberlain is spending a significantly large amount of time on the bench and the 23 year old Englishman wants this to change.
“I’d be lying if I wasn’t going to sit here and say that it has crossed my mind that I need more game time. As a footballer, you want to play every game. Me being myself, I’m not happy when I’m not playing.
There is going to come a time in my career, and I think I’m approaching that, when I do need to be getting more regular football. But my focus completely and utterly now is on playing for Arsenal and still trying to break into the team when I get the opportunity, and help out if I have to come off the bench.” Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain said.
During the previous summer transfer window Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was linked with a number of clubs that were interested in signing him but the player decided to stay at the Emirates Stadium as he wanted to fight for his place and the 23 year old player is certain that he has done more than enough to start getting more playing time and even become a first-team player but this has not happened and he is now starting to think about joining another club where he can become a more influential player.
