Lukas Podolski decided to join Inter Milan on a loan deal which lasts until the end of the current season as the German forward struggled to find playing time in Arsenal but even though he left the Premier League club, Podolski has announced that once his loan spell with Inter Milan reaches its end, he will be making a return to the Emirates Stadium and return to Arsenal where he has an unfinished career
“As thing stand now, I will return to London in the summer. There will be talks in March or April because the season ends in May. I had a great time in London, even though the last half-year wasn’t satisfying from a sporting perspective. But it’s a fact that I never had problems there neither with the club, nor with Arsene Wenger, or even the fans. All I bemoaned was that once the move was sealed there were no farewell words from the club.’’Podolski said.
The German attacker still has dreams on returning to Arsenal and snatch a spot in the starting lineup of Arsene Wenger but this is easier said than done as Podolski is struggling on scoring goals on a consistent basis. So far, Podolski has scored 0 goals in 6 appearances for Inter Milan.
If Podolski is not able to score goals with Inter Milan it seems unlikely if Wenger would be interested in bringing the German forward back to the team. Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain are just some of the players that Podolski would have to compete in order to seal a spot in the main team of Arsene Wenger.
On the assumption that Podolski continues not being able to score goals consistently for Inter Milan, the German forward should forget about landing an important spot in Arsene Wenger’s team and should start thinking about resuming the last few years of his career in another league, maybe the MLS.
