Arsenal are reported to be in talks with Wolfsburg player Julian Draxler after German star Mezut Ozil put in a good word for the player.
French source RMC Sport claims that the Gunners are not resting after recent title chase challenges. The Gunners crashed 2-1 to Everton, further denting their serious Premier League chase as the gap at the top widens. Hence, the management’s resolve to lure Draxler to North London.
The report hints that Ozil is the man tasked with tempting his compatriot to join the Premier League side. A top source in RMC Sport posted on Twitter:
“#Arsenal is in discussion also with Draxler! Ozil tried to convince him to join #AFC! Arsenal should send an offer!”
The Bundesliga star has disillusioned at Wolfsburg and he would be open to a move away from Germany, reports say. The 23-year old forward joined the club for £35 million in the summer of 2015, and he is currently very attractive in the transfer market.
Another French source Le Parisien claims Ligue 1 giant Paris St. Germain and Serie champs Juventus are wiling to splash the cash on Draxler if he would agree to a move. PSG are believed to be the favourites to land Draxler, hence Ozil being the candy to lure the youngster.
PSG discussed with the player during the season break and seem to have established a good relationship with him. Draxler saw his valuation rise in the last two years to over £60 million. However, at the moment, his valuation would be half of that amount. With Coach Arsene Wenger focused on getting his title chase back on track, he would likely splash over £30 million to sign the Germany international. Draxler would join the attackers in the squad as the title drought in Arsenal reach unprecedented levels.
